Sending Your Digital Files to Us

Here is some information on how to send your files to me, and in which formats they should be. If any of this is confusing to you, just let me know & we'll work it out together!

image sizes, formats, & resolution

Images should be in .gif or .jpg format and at a resolution of 72dpi (dots per inch). Anything higher than this is overkill for the web, and will cause the images to load slowly. If it is not possible to send us images that are at 72dpi, that's fine. Just send me what you have and I'll resize/optimize them for you. Images which need to be printed very sharply should be at 300dpi.

document sizes & formats

The most common formats for text documents are .txt (plain text), .rtf (rich text), and .doc (Word document). If your document is in some other format, just let us know, we can deal with most any type of text document. 2-8 paragraphs is generally a good amount of text for a webpage; if very much longer, the text should probably be presented on more than one page.

file names

File names should not contain any spaces. For example, a file should be named "puppyphoto.jpg" or "puppy_photo.jpg" or "puppy-photo.jpg" rather than
"puppy photo.jpg."
