So…you’re using Twitter cards on your website. You published a new post and shared it to Twitter. And then — you realize that there’s a typo in the post’s title or in the snippet of text in the card. Or maybe the wrong image is appearing. What do you do to fix it?
Here’s an example of one such mistake and how I cleared it up in just a minute or two.
The webpage in question was a review of a poetry collection titled Sonosyntactics. But there was a typo in the page’s title; it named the book as Sonotactics.

How embarrassing! Quickly, I corrected the typo on the webpage.
But, the error was still showing on the Twitter card. That’s because Twitter doesn’t automatically update the card when the page is updated. The title urgently needed to be corrected.
But no worries. Here’s how I refreshed the Twitter card:
1. Visited https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator
2. Pasted the URL of the page with the incorrect card.
3. Clicked the “preview card” button.
4. A preview of the new, corrected card was generated.

To verify (though I didn’t really need to) I went back to Twitter and found the tweet that was showing the typo. I refreshed the page and –voila! — I saw the tweet had indeed been updated to show the correct title. Future tweets of that page will now show the correct title as well.

That’s all there is to it. Just takes a moment. You can use this method to update any element of the Twitter card, whether the image, title or text.
